There are meals you remember, and then there are evenings that quietly imprint themselves on you forever.

warm ocean air, and a dining experience that felt almost surreal. 🌊✨

Chef Dharshan Munidasa took us on a journey. Every course told a story — of culture, creativity, and connection, combining his Sri Lankan and Japanese heritage and his signature cooking style, all against one of the most breathtaking backdrops imaginable.

Experiences like this remind me why food is one of the most powerful ways to understand a destination. It captures people, history, emotion, and landscape all at once.
Thank you @experiencegaiama and @dharshanmunidasa for an inspired and unforgettable night beneath the Sri Lankan sky. Still thinking about it.

Dining with Gaiama was an unforgettable experience! We were immediately captivated and taken on a Sri Lankan dining delight by local Sri Lankan musicians on arrival and guided to our gorgeous seaside table beneath palm fronds and coconuts. We were able to get up close to witness the top Chef Darshan Munidasa at work with his focus and attention to every detail that made our 7 course dinner truely unmatched. Chef Darshan Munidasa showcased local ingredients in bold and unexpected ways combining his Japanese and Sri Lankan heritage. It was a dining experience so thoughtfully curated and beautifully executed that it set a new benchmark for unmatched coastal gastronomy.

There’s something very New York about climbing a random staircase, walking onto a rooftop at golden hour, finding the most beautifully table waiting for you and a handful of friends.... more

Some dinners are just dinners.
Some feel like an entire atmosphere.

This experience by @experiencegaiama felt part dinner party, part design installation, part love letter to the city. The tablescape, the candles flickering against the skyline, the calla lilies, the food, the jazz band, the sunset turning into candlelight… all of it felt intentional.

Exactly the kind of evening that reminds me why I still love living here. less

Immediate impressions on arrival of a fairytale setting, of natural light, of beautiful napiery, candles and sparkling glassware set sympathetically and effortlessly in the local beach environment. Open but intimate. Thoughtful and personal touches evident in even the smallest of details.

Guests entertained with a wonderful mixture of local culture, fun and delightful refreshments.

The menu nothing short of sensational with imported chef Darshan Munidasa explaining and demonstrating every course with a relaxed but flamboyant flair using the freshest and most delicious local produce showcased to its finest.

Impactful beautiful images and memories carried for life thanks to Gaiama.

We had a fabulous night at Gaiama's event. In the middle of the hustle and bustle of downtown NYC, we climbed a couple of flights of stairs and found this breathtaking venue.
The food by Dominique Ansel was delicious, a taste of Asia and France. The live band added to the vibrant atmosphere. I’d love to attend another one of these events!

Perched above the Bowery, this immersive dining experience captured a side of New York that is rarely seen so well balanced: the creative pulse of downtown Manhattan paired with the elegance of a candlelit dinne party.

The rooftop setting embraced the neighborhood's artistic energy while creating an atmosphere that felt intimate and refined. Candles flickered across the tables, creating the atmosphere of a chic dinner party, and a remarkably talented young jazz band provided the soundtrack for the evening. The result was a space that felt effortlessly unpretentious, cool and warmly sophisticated.

The food, presented by "Papa d'Amour" - Dominique Ansel's newest concept - offered a refined and inventive reinterpretation of French, American and Asian comfort flavors, executed with precision and restraint. It was complemented by an attention to detail that carried throughout the event (shoutout to the custom printed menus personally signed by Dominique Ansel himself!)"

But what lingered most was the feeling of connection between guests, the setting, and the city itself.

In a city that often asks you to choose between edgy and elegant, this evening managed to be both. A memorable gathering that brought together street-art creativity, jazz-club charm, and exceptional hospitality under the Manhattan skyline.
